Not all digital hearing aids are made equal!!

Most hearing aid manufacturers have a certain niche in the market place and it is not possible to tell the good from the bad, to the downright useless, just by looking at them.

As Galway Hearing Care are a family owned and run audiology practice, we are completely independent of all digital hearing aid manufacturers. As a result, WE choose only the best hearing aid suppliers from around the world for our customers, namely, Widex and Phonak. These two manufacturers alone have one every major award between them for digital hearing aids over the past 7–8 years.

Getting the most out of your hearings aids relies mainly on the hearing aid audiologist who is fitting the hearing aid. However, if this person is poorly trained to fit your hearing aids to ‘Gold Standard’ i.e. ‘Real Ear Measurements’, then you can be fairly sure you are not getting the best from your amplification.

Galway Hearing Care were one of the first in our industry (and still one of the few) to adopt the ‘gold standard’ as part of the fitting process. Tthis allows us to take out the ‘guess work’ that some of our competition are still fitting to.

All our Hearing Aid Audiologists have a Masters in Advanced Audiology from UCC. We provide a comprehensive audiological consultation by appointment, which includes a diagnostic hearing test/assessment, tympanometry, assessment of the patient’s needs, preferences, and budget whilst working with the patient and family. If an onward referral is required to see an Otolaryngologist (ENT) we will also arrange this.
